GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS:

   

SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be certified in Lifeguarding, Community CPR, and First Aid.  Additional certifications in Water Safety Instruction preferred.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES  AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  1. Assists with the design program.; prepares, prints and distributes program brochure information.  

 

  1. Assists with building rentals for all program activities using proper forms and following established procedures.  

 

  1. Makes recommendations to appropriate personnel regarding the purchase of equipment and supplies as needed.  

 

  1. Along with the Director, 

organizes staff and administers registration procedures at the direction of the Adult Evening Community Education Program Director.  

 

Hires, orientates, in-services and evaluates all aquatic personnel.  

 

Ensures that all aquatic personnel are properly certified.  

 

Ensures that pools meet state standards and that all safety rules and regulations are properly displayed and enforced at all times.  

 

  1. Enforces all district and building security rules and regulations.  A supervisor must be on duty at all activities.  

 

  1. Ensures that all program activities are supervised by an aquatic program employee designated as a supervisor by the director and that there are always enough aquatic staff at each activity to ensure participant safety.  

 

  1. Assist in resolving program participant complaints.  

 

  1. Ensures that all accidents are properly reported to appropriate personnel promptly and properly.  

 

  1. Maintains current knowledge on certification issues, aquatic rules, regulations and standards, and state-of-the-art aquatic skills, techniques, and training regimen.  

 

  1. Assumes responsibility, personally, to open the building to groups using the pool facilities when buildings cannot be accessed through the assistance of a custodian.  Building entry keys may not be distributed to any person by the Assistant Aquatics Coordinator.   

 

  1. Performs other related duties as may be assigned or necessary for an efficient operation.
