Substitute Custodians work on an as needed basis in the absence of the regular staff member. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The essential duties include (but are not limited to):
- Support the coordinated requirements of the Principal and staff in meeting their needs to establish and maintain a good educational rapport with students and community.
- Maintain lawns and shrubs in a neat and attractive manner.
- Keep grounds and sidewalks clean and safe. Removes snow and ice manually and/or by machine from designated areas. Makes periodic inspection of the exterior and the interior of the building.
- Protect the school building against vandalism, fire, storm damage and other hazards by adhering to safety and prevention practices.
- Make minor repairs, adjustments and replacements on equipment as required. Reports, in writing, the need of major work requirements to the Head Custodian.
- Clean designated areas of the building as assigned.
- Perform other related duties as may be assigned or necessary for an efficient operation.
