The Bensalem School District, located in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, right outside of Philadelphia, has an opening for a Director of Human Resources. This Cabinet Level position reports directly to the Superintendent and is responsible for the management of the Human Resource Department and all associated functions for a School District of approximately 1000 employees who are part of eight different bargaining units/representative groups. Responsibilities include:
*Compliance with state, federal and local employment law and Department of Education guidelines;
*Oversee recruitment and hiring process, internal and external;
*Manage administration, interpretation and negotiation of collective bargaining agreements;
*Respond to grievances and manage arbitration process
*Oversee leave process and procedures;
*Oversee employee benefit programs
*Oversee state unemployment claim response;
*Provide guidance and participate in employee disciplinary counseling;
*Organize monthly Personnel Committee meetings and the monthly Personnel agenda for Board review and approval;
*Supervise Human Resource staff of 4 full-time assistants;
*Work collaboratively with District Administration to support the mission of the District and assist with questions from Administration and staff.
Qualifications:
*Graduate degree or JD preferred with minimum of 3 years experience in Human Resources and/or Labor Law;
*Experience in field of K-12 education or other relevant public sector employment preferred;
*Experience working with labor organizations preferred.
